West Newton, MA.

 

West Newton was a complete gut rehab of a severely damaged stucco two family residence. The project included the installing of a new third floor living space with two new dormers and a new staircase. All the interior staircases were moved. We removed two windows in the rear and replaced them with sliding glass doors leading to a new exterior Azek deck on both the top and bottom floors. The front deck support post as well as the concrete front landing were torn out and replaced. Custom beveled granite sills and weep hole were installed in every window and all the stucco cracks were filled and sealed. We also removed some weight barring walls and replaced them with 4 20' 14" LVL's to open up the living space. Three and one half new bathrooms were installed as well as one brand new Ikea kitchen with granite counter tops. We also revamped the kitchen in the rental unit downstairs.  New footing,  lalie column and LVL's had to be installed in the basement to accomodate for the additional weight. The side deck and stairs are temporary, while the client gets approval to attach a new garage with another Master bedroom above.
